Steamed Kale!

We have all heard about the benefits of kale. It’s long list of accolades include:

  • One of the Most Nutrient-Dense Foods on Earth

For the longest time I wanted to love it but just did not know how to prepare it. Finally I started experimenting and here is a super simple and easy way to make it palatable…

Just steam it!

Steam: Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a pan. Add 2-3 cups of chopped kale and cover. Allow the steam to cook it for a few minutes, testing it periodically with a fork for doneness (almost all the water will have evaporated).

Once it is steamed you can combine it with other vegetables or a protein of your choice. Season it any way you wish: keep it simple with fresh ground sea salt and pepper, sprinkle with nutritional yeast, top with oil and vinegar, fresh lemon juice, or salad dressing of your choice. It’s delicious and serves as a wonderfully nutritious snack. ?
